Small backyards are just as suitable for a waterfeature. This area was small and heavily planted with bushes, trees and flowers. There was no natural slope to use for the waterfall, so I created one using the azaela bushes for a backdrop.
One disadvantage on this site was that it was totally enclosed with a privacy fence. All of the material had to be hauled in by wheelbarrow. Below is a slideshow of the construction process. Below that are more photos of the finished waterfeature. One of the photos shows my son walking the path to the backyard. It isn't pond related, but I thought it was worth including.
