This is a wood framed pond. These are much more cost effective and just as beautiful. A stone waterfall can still be worked into the pond as you can se in the photos. These ponds have just as much movement and life as the stone surround ponds.
Watch the slideshow and you will see some Bonsia trees above the pond that I created using some evergreens from Lowes. Also, the large boulder in the photos isn't a boulder at all, but one of my faux stone creations.
The front of the pond has a small brick patio area with a stone retainer wall. Sand from an existing previous model railroad was kept in place and piled up to form a sand dune for a backdrop. Pilings were fabricated using treated posts and rope.
The pond was furnished with duckweed, lotus lilies and more. It is very lively and makes a great waterfall sound that can be heard very clearly from the walkway and observation deck that was built just for viewing the pond.
