Abduction and Assault Resistance Class Outline
Part 1: Before Beginning; brief summary about the information and use of information in this class.
Part 2: Reacting to an attack; self defense moves are only a part of getting safely out of a situation. If you are attacked, your mind set will determine how well you respond. You HAVE to have a survivor’s attitude. A common saying in law enforcement is that no matter what happens, you are going home at the end of the shift. Don’t accept defeat, don’t give up. Eleven rules of reaction to an attack.
Part 3: Be Mentally Prepared; five points of mental preparation to help you be aware of danger or threats and also to assist in making daily activities safer.
Part 4: Weapons; the best weapons to prevent an attack or abduction are those that you already have with you. To keep this simple and easy to remember I am only going to discuss four of them.
Part 5: Self defense moves; demonstration and individual practice with a partner of fourteen very basic self defense moves. I will demonstrate each move and then walk around the room answering questions before moving on to the next demonstration.
The entire class will last between 1 ½ to two hours depending on the group. It is fun and informative and each person gets a booklet to carry home to be certain that they will be able to refresh themselves about what they have learned!
